Who will replace Victoria Kjær Theilvig? 121 competitors competed this Friday, November 21 in Pak Kret, near Bangkok (Thailand), to become the new Miss Universe 2025, within the framework of the 74th edition of the beauty pageant. To carry the high French color, the Miss France company has entrusted the tricolor scarf to Ève Gilles, Miss France 2024 and Miss Nord-Pas-de-Calais 2023.
This 22 year old young woman from Quaëdypre (North) has gone through several challenges since her arrival in Thailand on November 1. In addition to parties, dinners and opening ceremonies, this short-haired Miss also participated in fashion shows in swimsuits and evening gowns. She also surprised during the parade with the national costume, an armor that paid tribute to Joan of Arc, “a champion of peace”.
The competition will take place at midnight in France
She carries hopes of a third French crown, nine years after Iris Mittenaere’s coronation. Miss France 2016 was crowned on January 30, 2017 in Manila (Philippines) against Miss Haiti. She became the second French woman to win the Miss Universe title, while the first victory occurred in 1953, when Christiane Martel was crowned. Four other French women are also in the running: Ophély Mézino for Guadeloupe, Célya Abatucci for Martinique, Nourya Aboutoihi for Mayotte, but also French-Bulgarian Gaby Guha, Miss Bulgaria.
Due to the time difference, the competition will take place in France on Thursday to Friday evenings starting at 02.00, while in Thailand it will take place at 08.00. The selection will be broadcast in France on the Paris Première and commented on by François Pier Pélinard-Lambert and Sylvie Tellier, former directors of the Miss France competition.
Last year, the selection of Miss Universe 2024 took place on November 16 in Mexico City (Mexico) and culminated in the coronation of Victoria Kjær Theilvig from Denmark. France was brilliantly represented by Indira Ampiot, Miss France 2023, who finished in the top 30 of the competition.
