The Friuli Venezia Giulia was tested by bad weather. The region has declared a state of emergency and called for national mobilization to address the critical problems caused by the heavy rains that, since last night, have particularly hit the provinces of Gorizia and Udine. More than 250 interventions were carried out by the Fire Brigade, with 242 operators involved in rescue operations.
Cormons, a landslide struck three buildings: two were lost
The most dramatic situation was recorded in Cormons, in the Gorizia region, where a landslide swept away three buildings. A search is underway for a missing boy and an elderly woman. Another person was pulled alive from the rubble. A USAR (Urban Search And Rescue) team, a Fire Department dog unit and a helicopter from the Venice Aviation Department were operating at the scene.

Udine is among the provinces most affected
Most interventions are concentrated in the province of Udine, with the towns of Palmanova, Trivignano Udinese and Manzano most affected by flooding, landslides and traffic difficulties. There have been many requests for help for stranded motorists and residents isolated in their homes.
To support the local command, special flood rescue teams have arrived from Lombardy, Veneto and Emilia Romagna, equipped with modules with high-power water pumps. The situation continues to develop and authorities recommend the public to exercise extreme caution.
