The President of the Republic held a meeting at the Élysée on Tuesday regarding drug trafficking, in the presence of the Prime Minister, several ministers, the future head of the national anti-organized crime prosecutor’s office and the prosecutor of Marseille.
In publications on social networks “violence and death have been commonplace for years” in the second largest city in France. “We reached breaking point last week, with possible murders due to intimidation”he said, referring to the brother of Amine Kessaci, an environmental activist committed to opposing drug trafficking who was killed in Marseille on Thursday.
The funeral of young Mohamed Mehdi Kessaci, 20, took place on Tuesday in Marseille, according to ICI Provence. A white march will be held next weekend, the victim’s family said.
