“Vixen – A Game of Revenge”
Murder in revenge?
The son of a Saudi diplomat was shot dead. At the same time, a dissident refused to hand over promised confidential documents to the Office for the Protection of the Constitution. Can Anne Marie Fuchs (Lina Wendel) and Youssef El Kilali (Karim Chérif) change minds in ARD’s crime thriller “The Vixen – Revenge Game”?
For Anne Marie Fuchs (Lina Wendel) and Youssef El Kilali (Karim Chérif), their second assignment in the service of the Office for the Protection of the Constitution begins not only with a new assignment but also with a new client: Dr. Clara Chu (Kotbong Yang) replaces Larissa Hollig (Kim Riedle), who was promoted following the events of “The Vixen – The Spy” the previous week. The first encounter between Chu and Fuchs occurs at a crime scene: young Chalid Al-Hassani (Robin Abdallah) is shot in a Cologne hair salon. Interesting thing: The dead man’s father is Saudi diplomat Hakim Al-Hassani (Samir Fuchs).
On behalf of Chu, Fuchs is now supposed to find Saudi dissident Emira Maliki (Javeh Asefdjah): With the help of the Office for the Protection of the Constitution, the German teacher critical of the government was able to escape from Saudi Arabia to Germany. In return, he promised Chu Saudi intelligence documents that he had stolen from Hakim Al-Hassani. “He has not given you his secret protocols,” Fuchs concluded: “and now you fear that Emira Maliki has been seduced by false promises and that you have smuggled an assassin into the country.” Chu praised: “You think for yourself!” Fusch responded: “Is that a problem for you?”
More exciting than the previous film
It was just one of the great verbal battles Fuchs and Chu waged over the course of 90 minutes. In general, 31-year-old Kotbong Yang took over the role of the Constitutional Protection Office more quickly than his predecessor, played by Kim Riedle.
In the search for Emira Maliki, Fuchs and El Kilali learn more about her tragic family history: her husband and daughter were taken to a Saudi prison by Hakim Al-Hassani. The husband was eventually beheaded and the daughter died of heart disease in prison. Therefore, it is very likely that the murder of Khalid Al-Hassani was an act of revenge carried out by Emira Maliki. But when Fuchs and El Kilali find a hairpin at the crime scene, their theory is shaken…
The eleventh crime thriller in the series about “The Vixen” manages to more easily get the audience involved with the interesting case. So far nothing is known about the continuation of the crime thriller format.
