The head of the Central Court of Investigation number 2 of the National Court, Ismael Moreno, has asked the PSOE to provide “the list of cash payments made” and supporting documents during 2017 and 2024. Moreno is therefore asking to investigate the party’s accounting, after having opened an investigation to clarify the alleged discrepancy in payments to former Transport Minister José Luis Ábalos and his advisor Koldo García.
In a ruling to which EL PAÍS had access, dated Wednesday 26 November, Moreno supports the request of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office which indicates that the documentation provided so far by the PSOE “is not illuminating”, while “it is indicated that with a certain periodicity the funds accounted for in cash came from his bank account”.
