National team: Nagelsmann stars in fair weather check | sport

Stormy times for our national players

After the “just do it” debate sparked by national coach Julian Nagelsmann (38) (BILD reports) German Football addresses the question: Do we really have too many “fair weather” players in the squad?

The 2-0 win in Luxembourg showed once again that we lack a clear leader who takes the initiative even in difficult situations. Nagelsmann struck a calm and matter-of-fact tone in his halftime speech.

BILD mentions which players are truly tough and able to accept criticism in the current weather situation at the end of the World Cup qualifiers. And who currently seems to need to be treated more gently.

Nagelsmann stars in the fair weather check!

1 – Severe Weather Leader: captain Joshua Kimmich (30) is our undisputed boss. How important he is was shown by the fact that he traveled to Luxembourg despite a capsule injury and held individual discussions in the dressing room and gave a short speech. Even those who have been struck by disaster Nico Schlotterbeck (25) is a tough boss and BVB’s appointed captain.

2 – Storm Festival: Jonathan Tah (29) wore the captain’s armband in his name, showing a shaky appearance, but stood behind him. Also captain of Leipzig David Raum (25) increasingly assume responsibility and become the mouthpiece of the team.

3 – Weather Resistant: Guard Oliver Baumann (35) and attacker Nick Woltemade (23) is the constant Nagelsmann column that precedes the exponent. Waldemar Anton (29) is considered a defensive speaker.

4 – Changeable: Leon Goretzka (30) and Florian Wirtz (22) have the leadership gene, but find it too difficult to deal with fluctuations in their own performance. Unfortunately, most team members are also inconsistent in terms of type: Noah Atubolu (23), Alex Nubel (29), Finland Dahmen (27), Malick Thiaw (24), Nathanael Brown (22), Puzzles Raw (27), Aleksandar Pavlovic (21), Felix Can’t (24), Assan Ouédraogo (19), Kevin Too bad (23), Jamie Lewelling (24) and Jonathan Burkardt (25). More collective weather resistance would be good for our team!

5 – Fair Weather Footballer: Must stay away from criticism Leroy Sane (29), Sergeant Gnabry (30) and Karim Adeyemi (23) feel cared for. Stars that shine when the weather is good, for example collective success, but right now they are not moving forward.

By the way: In the qualifying final on Monday (20.45/ZDF, Tickets directly at BILD.de) in Leipzig the temperature is expected to drop by around 2°C. Fair weather football won’t work against Slovakia (first leg 0-2)…
