The electric GLC celebrated its premiere at IAA Mobility 2025 and will go on sale in early 2026. It replaces the previous EQC. The MMA platform allows variants with one or two electric motors; A range of over 700 kilometers has been announced. Mid-range electric cars are being produced in the US – partly to take advantage of local funding programs. It’s conceivable that the combustion engine model will also get a facelift in 2026 to bring it closer to the electric GLC.
The next-generation compact SUV will be released in 2026. Mercedes is also planning a fully electric version, but it will no longer use the EQ label. Instead, the models will be called GLA EQ and GLB EQ. Both are based on the MMA platform and thus close the gap between the entry-level and mid-range segments.
The GLE is also being revised. In addition to the classic drivetrain, a plug-in hybrid with a significantly increased electric range is also planned. The long version is specifically aimed at the Chinese market and is also produced there. The infotainment features the new MB.OS, first introduced on the CLA.
The classic S-Class remains in the portfolio despite the EQS – and will receive a comprehensive update in 2026. Mercedes itself talks about “major improvements” that go beyond the usual facelift. Besides the visual changes, the main focus is on new software functions and additional help systems. New hybrid variants are also possible.
Still without an official name, but with a clear direction: Mercedes is bringing a smaller, fully electric version of the G-Class to the market. The model is to be positioned independently and adopts typical G features such as ground clearance and terrain profile – but in a compact format. A concept has been presented and series production is scheduled to begin in 2026.
