NIU at EICMA 2025, from Concept 06 to NUIMM microcar: news

TO EICMA 2025 a real metamorphosis has occurred. NIUthe Chinese company known for redefining urban mobility through zero-emission scooters, has taken a giant leap forward, delivering a triple attack that pushes the brand beyond the city limits to conquer the open road and the most persistent off-road terrain. The exhibition in Milan saw not only ultra-high-performance maxi scooters, but also a series of stripped-down off-road vehicles and microcars, demonstrating the company’s ambitious and coherent strategy.

Concept 06: more than just a scooter

That NIU Concept 06 it is the undisputed protagonist for lovers of speed and technology. This electric maxi scooter is not a simple means of urban transportation; it’s a road car that promises to redefine the concept of modern driving. Her appearance is the best. A 20 kW lateral engine or the equivalent of around 27 HP pushes this vehicle to a maximum speed of 155 km/h. Acceleration is instantaneous, allowing you to turn every ride into a dynamic adventure. To cope with this power, the vehicle is equipped with TKX.LAB suspension and dual disc brakes, ensuring safe and precise braking.

However, the real innovation lies ininterfaces and assistive technologies. There’s a large 9.3-inch TFT touchscreen, powered by the new Linx OS operating system. Control becomes smooth with the latest generation Screen Dial. The Concept 06 evolves into an extension of the driver’s hands thanks to an intelligent AI Co-pilot that learns driving habits and improves safety and connectivity. Security is enhanced by state-of-the-art lighting and projection systems. The adaptive headlights adjust dynamically to the environment, while the atmospheric lighting below emits a “breathing” effect.

The basic thing is rear radar which alerts other approaching vehicles on the dashboard and, cleverly, uses ground projection to signal nearby traffic, protecting the driver from every angle. Additionally, the system includes front and rear cameras, offers a Sentry mode that records unusual movements and sends notifications directly to the owner’s smartphone. Personalized comfort: electric handlebars and windshield adapt to your preferred position, the self-learning saddle facilitates access to the load compartment, and tire pressure sensors ensure reliability. Advanced driving features include adaptive Cruise Control, hill start assist which maintains vehicle stability on hills, and the Push Assist function for manual movement. A curiosity, but also a symbol of futuristic practicality, is the integration of a table for short stops, prepared for future wireless charging.

Attack on the offroad world: NIUNV series

NIU’s real strategic surprise was their entry Strength sports segment. With NIUNV seriesthe company is preparing to revolutionize off-road adventures. This new range of ATVs (All-Terrain Vehicle) offers multi-platform powertrains, including plug-in hybrid (1000PH), pure electric (1000E) and internal combustion engine (500). Designed to tackle all types of terrain, from the most challenging dirt trails to mud, the NIUNV Series ATV combines toughness and technology. Durability is guaranteed by sturdy 1.2 mm steel panels, resistant to extreme weather conditions. The design is ultra-futuristic.

In terms of numbers, plug-in and electric power reaches up to 73.55 kW (100 hp) and 260 Nm of torque, supported by lithium batteries of 5.29 kWh and 10.58 kWh respectively. However, the thermal is 500cc with 38 HP. Technology is not lacking on the off-road vehicle either: there is an Intelligent Driving System with mmWave automotive radar and a 5-inch TFT display, linked to a mobile app. For adventurers looking for freedom, Silent Driving Mode is available.

Niumm: city quad bike

Completing the offering at EICMA 2025 is the NUIMM, an electric microcar that falls into the L6e category. This compact car is a natural extension of the successful scooter line. The NUIMM uses the same modular battery pack as the NQi range, providing a range of around 70 km on a single charge.

The range can be almost doubled with a second pair of batteries, keeping the design simple and ideal for cities. With sales forecast from 2026, Niumm fits into the growing European lightweight quadricycle market, offering a recognizable design and low running costs.
