German and his neighbors were killed by a landslide
Heavy rains have caused landslides near Trieste in northern Italy. Firefighters were only able to save an 83-year-old woman and her neighbor in Germany was killed.
In northern Italy, two people died in a landslide overnight after heavy rain; according to media reports, one of them was German. Firefighters announced online on Monday that they had found the body of a man in the town of Brazzano di Cormons near Trieste. A fire brigade spokesman later told AFP that the body of a missing woman had been identified.
According to media reports, one of the dead was a 32-year-old German who lived in the city. Therefore, the man left his house to check on his 83-year-old neighbor. She is the woman who died.
Heavy rain in northern Italy
The landslide was triggered by heavy rain. As a result, local rivers overflowed and mud was washed onto the streets. According to the fire department, at least three houses were destroyed.
