Three people were seriously injured in a collision between two cars and a heavy-duty hauler transporting wind turbine blades. How exactly is the vehicle in Highway The 43 crash near Recklinghausen on Monday was initially unclear, a police spokesman said.
According to the fire department, one of the cars overturned and ended up on its roof. Another car came to rest under a wind turbine blade and its occupants were trapped inside the vehicle. Emergency services had to raise the wings to free them.
The three occupants of the car, aged between 30 and 57, were seriously injured, a police spokesman said. Paramedics took him to hospital. The motorway police are currently investigating the cause of the accident and the extent of the damage.
