A woman died and nine people were injured, three of them seriously, this Saturday in the pier of Puerto de La Cruz (Tenerife), after suffering a hit at sea, as reported by the government of the Canary Islands. Among those affected are six French tourists.
Emergency personnel were mobilized after receiving an alarm at 11.36am this Saturday that several people had fallen into the water due to a storm surge. The Canary Islands Emergency Service has activated a medical helicopter and two basic life support ambulances.
Local police officers and people who were in the area rescued those affected by the water. One of the women who fell was in cardiopulmonary arrest, so both the local police officers, first, and the health workers, then, performed resuscitation maneuvers on her, but without a positive outcome and in the end her death was declared.
