open day at the editorial office on November 15

The future of information attracts the attention of the younger generation who aspire to enter the world of journalism or those who already have experience, who want to become protagonists. Therefore, from December 12th the second one will start Master in Journalism and Media Communication entitled to Paolo Grandi – prestigious signature and directors Messaggero and Mattino – and organized by Messenger of God And Unimarconione of the first Italian online universities.

MEMORY

This time too, the course will be an opportunity to proactively remember Luca Cifoni, one of the most authoritative exponents of Italian economic journalism, a protagonist who had a long career at the Via del Tritone newspaper. Precisely to honor his memory, the Master, thanks to the efforts of the Lottomatica Foundation, was able to provide two scholarships for participants that will bear his name and will cover half of the course registration fees. The call for scholarships (available from today on the Unimarconi website) is for all young people under 30 years of age who have graduated in economic or humanistic disciplines (Cifoni, before specializing in economic topics, had studied Philosophy). Previous journalistic experience in the field of economics will be a special qualification and the selection will be made on the basis of qualifications and after an interview with a commission consisting of Messaggero’s top management, the Master’s directors and representatives of the Lottomatica Foundation.

But the entire course will equip participants with the tools to navigate rapidly changing communications. For this reason, the Academy aims to create a direct link between students and the most authoritative professionals in Messaggero and the other newspapers of the Caltagirone Editore group (Il Mattino, Il Gazzettino, Il Corriere Adriatico, Il Quotidiano di Puglia and Leggo), with an educational method that aims to transfer the basic ideas of the journalistic profession but not only. The master’s degree will serve to train a new generation of professionals capable of discovering news and offering it to the public using all the platforms provided by new technologies, from printed paper to the web, to social media.

TEACHING METHODS

The course will touch on all specialist sectors, from traditional crime and justice news to the most advanced digital communications techniques, from web journalism to news delivered on social media and investigative podcasts. And in addition to the teaching part, workshops are also planned with prestigious writers from other newspapers and with representatives of institutions, the business world and the professions, to give students a first approach to the different realities they have to face as journalists. In addition, during the internship scheduled in the middle of the educational track, students will be able to live formative experiences of life in an editorial office.

OPEN DAYS

However, all this can be explored in depth next Saturday, November 15, during the Open Day hosted at Messaggero headquarters, which can also be connected via streaming from 10.30. The Master Formula – which can be viewed on the websites www.ilmessaggero.it and www.unimarconi.it – is designed to maximize the number of participants, also benefiting those who do not live in the capital and who would have difficulty attending lessons in person and carrying out an internship in Rome. Frontal lessons can also be accessed in live streaming for those who wish to connect from all over Italy, while the internship can be done in one of the thirty editorial offices of Il Messaggero, Il Gazzettino, Il Mattino, Il Corriere Adriatico, Il Quotidiano di Puglia and Leggo, distributed in Lazio, Lombardy, Veneto, Marche, Abruzzo, Umbria, Campania and Puglia. This course, which allows you to obtain a university diploma and 60 training credits, will last one year and is accessible to all young people who have a three-year degree. In short, it will be a high-level training course, also certified by the experience of a first Master’s degree. In fact, most of the participants have already started collaborating with Il Messaggero or other newspapers in the group, laying the foundations for a professional path that can take them further. In the name of masters such as Paolo Graldi and in the footsteps of Luca Cifoni.
