Large waves from the south will impact the southern Tuamotus as well as the Gambier on Saturday morning, particularly impacting the Tematangi, Moruroa and Mangareva areas.

The wave height is estimated to increase gradually until it reaches between 4 meters and 4.50 meters

This episode will last until the end of the day before slowly subsiding overnight Saturday to Sunday with a height of 3.50 to 4 meters.

– Avoid going into the sea if possible, be aware of currents in the lagoon and be very alert around the trail

– Protect the boat by strengthening mooring lines, protecting or removing it from the water

Seaside residents:

– Be prepared to secure your belongings which are likely to be damaged by rising waters or being swept away by waves

– Monitor rising water levels

– Drive carefully by limiting your speed

– Do not drive on roads that have been hit by big waves or have been flooded with water
