Palestinian Refugee Camp Hit, 13 People Killed

Israeli attack in southern Lebanon, 13 people killed. According to the country’s Health Ministry, at least 13 victims were killed in the attack on the Palestinian refugee camp in Ain al-Helweh, on the outskirts of Sidon, while Israel said the attack hit a Hamas compound. The Health Ministry added that “ambulances are still transporting injured people to nearby hospitals.”

Lebanon’s National News Agency said the attack targeted a car near the Khalid bin al-Walid mosque and “it was later reported that the attack also hit” the mosque itself and a center of the same name.

The Israeli army said in a statement that it had “struck terrorists operating in a Hamas training compound in the Ain al-Helweh area in southern Lebanon”, adding that they were “operating against Hamas bases in Lebanon”.
