A volunteer firefighter died this Monday morning while trying to intervene in a large pileup on the A16 near Wimille (Pas-de-Calais), the department’s firefighters told Le Parisien, confirming information from La Voix du Nord. According to emergency services, the volunteer firefighter was 25 years old and had initially gone to the Marquise barracks (Pas-de-Calais) to carry out his duties.
