A 63-year-old man was hit by a tram in Dortmund and died at the scene. How the accident occurred remains unclear. The police are investigating it.
62 passengers witnessed the fatal accident
While crossing the tracks, the 63 year old man was hit by a tram and suffered serious injuries. The man was about to cross the railway tracks at a relief crossing in the afternoon at around 4:40 p.m., police said. For reasons that are still unclear, there was a collision with the U47 line towards Aplerbeck.

Based on information, the man died at the location due to serious injuries. A total of 62 passengers and the light rail train driver remained uninjured. An investigation into the background to the accident is ongoing. (nlu/dpa)
