People: Ariana Grande attacked by man at ‘Wicked’ premiere

The American actress and singer attended the premiere party in Singapore Ariana Grande (32) was attacked by a man. US media posted a video of the incident in which Grande ran away in shock. A man in a white shirt and shorts was seen running onto the premiere’s yellow carpet, rushing toward Grande, grabbing the star by the shoulders and embracing her. The actress looked shocked.

Grande’s “Bad” partner Cynthia Erivo immediately reacted and pushed the attacker aside. Then security forces also intervened. Also attending the event were co-stars Michelle Yeoh, Jeff Goldblum and director Jon M. Chu.

The attacker posted a video

The attacker was quickly identified, according to People.com and Variety. He poses as a troll on his social media under the name “Pajama Man.” He posted a video of the incident on Instagram and wrote: “Dear Ariana Grande, thank you for letting me jump on the yellow carpet with you.” Therefore, the man had been considered a troublemaker at celebrity events before.

Grande and Erivo are the lead actresses in the musical film adaptation as opposite witches Glinda and Elphaba. “Wicked: Part 2” is scheduled to open in German cinemas on November 19. The first “Wicked” film was a box office hit at the end of last year and was nominated for ten Oscars.
