People: Morgan Freeman fights against an AI copy of his voice

Morgan Freeman defending himself against an AI replica of his voice. “I’m a little angry,” said the 88-year-old in an interview with “The Guardian”. He’s like any other actor: “Don’t imitate me with falsehoods. I don’t like this and I get paid to do these things. So if you do this without me, you’re robbing me.”

After the death of James Earl Jones, who gave his iconic voice to Darth Vader in “Star Wars,” the voice will continue to be used with the help of artificial intelligence – with his approval. The actor has agreed to have his voice regenerated by AI. Freeman (“Seven,” “Bruce SWT”) defended his use of his AI-generated voice: “Well, look, my lawyer is very, very busy.” When asked if any cases had been discovered and prosecuted, Freeman said: “Yes, many. Quite a few.”

Freeman relies on unions

Freeman is also not a fan of actress Tilly Norwood, who was generated entirely by AI. “Nobody likes him because he’s not real, so it wouldn’t work in movies or TV.” It also relies on trade unions: “The job of trade unions is to ensure that actors can continue to act, there will be conflict.”
