Rome, November 16 (Adnkronos) – “The case of the director of a school in Ferrara who chose to exclude all students who did not achieve an average of 7 in order not to exceed the total cost of 140 thousand euros for a school trip shows the many problems that arise around these trips. Minister Valditara, instead of solving the problem, made it worse with bureaucratic procedures”. This was expressed by Elisabetta Piccolotti from Avs.
“Then there is the issue of price: these trips – continues the red-green MP, member of the Chamber’s Cultural Commission – are becoming inaccessible to many people, it seems that at least a third, students are forced to give up and feel like ‘losers’ compared to the rest of the class. Following pressure from Avs and our submission of a bill providing for the creation of a fund for families in economic difficulties in the 2023/2024 academic year, Minister Valditara had allocated 50 million euros for subsidies for educational trips, but then in the following year the funds disappeared and there was an increase of 50 million in funding for private and private schools. We ask that we return, as we have asked a few weeks ago, that the discussion of our bill be continued in committee. We do not accept that some students are excluded because they are poorer than others, or that voting criteria are used: educational trips are part of the training offer and therefore – concludes Piccolotti – no one can be excluded from this activity”.
