The final phase of the trial against the State Attorney General, Álvaro García Ortiz, begins this week. At the center, a question: has Alberto González Amador’s email been leaked? Several journalists said they had accessed the email in which Ayuso’s partner acknowledged his crimes, and that they did so before it reached the prosecutor. But they did not reveal who sent it to them, taking advantage of professional secrecy. This opens a debate: the right of journalists not to reveal their source when faced with investigations into confidential information. Can they force them to reveal their source?
