Poland struggled to win in Malta

Despite winning 3:2 (1:1) against foreign team Malta, Poland had to qualify for the playoffs. Robert Lewandowski (32′), Pawel Wszolek (59′) and Piotr Zielinski (85′) scored for the visitors, Irvin Cardona (36′) and Teddy Teuma (68′, penalty kick) scored for Malta.

The team struggled against the outside for a long time and only capitalized on their chances late. Malta put up a convincing fight, but did not win a single point.
