LAS VEGAS (USA) (ITALPRESS) – Lando Norris took pole position in qualifying for the Las Vegas Grand Prix, round twenty-two of the F1 World Championship. The McLaren driver and world championship leader stopped the clock at 1’47″934, beating Max Verstappen (Red Bull) by more than three tenths and super Carlos Sainz (Williams), initially investigated and then “cleared” due to a potentially dangerous return to the track to the detriment of Lance Stroll (Aston Martin) in Q1. 5th and 9th. For the first time in his career, barring mechanical failure, Lewis Hamilton, along with the rest of Ferrari, will actually start from last position. As for Mercedes, George Russell will start from fourth position while Andrea Kimi Antonelli will start from seventeenth position, positions confirmed after an investigation into the failure of the FIA to receive their respective setup sheets: the teams, in fact, managed to show that they had submitted the documentation electronically and the delay in its receipt was caused by IT security problems.
