Russian President Vladimir Putin has commented for the first time on the 28-point peace plan proposed by the White House. At a meeting with his Security Council in Moscow, the leader considered the initiative “an update” of the proposals he said he supported in his meeting with Donald Trump in Alaska in August, but warned that the Kremlin needed time to reflect. “We are willing to talk about peace, but a thorough analysis of all the details of the proposed plan is needed,” the Russian president stressed.
Putin asks for time, but took advantage of the meeting to put all the pressure on his rival, Volodymyr Zelenskyj, who Washington gave a week to make a decision. “The United States has so far failed to obtain Ukraine’s consent to the peace plan,” the Russian president said.
