After episodes of snow and freezing rain overnight from Saturday to Sunday on the Île de France and Massif Central, this Sunday November 23 was marked by the arrival of new oceanic rain and mild sunny weather.
This Sunday morning, residents of Ile-de-France will wake up to snow. Between 1 and 3 cm on the ground is expected overnight from Saturday to Sunday, with local highs of 5 to 7 cm. Météo France put all departments in the region on orange snow ice alert.
Freezing rain in the Massif Central
Haute-Vienne, Creuse, Puy-de-Dôme, Corrèze, Cantal and Aveyron were also affected by the alert. Therefore, you should be very careful on the roads of Massif Central this Sunday, as there will be freezing rain coming from midnight.
Even in small amounts, this rainfall can make traffic difficult due to icy conditions. This phenomenon can continue until dawn. The snowfall will end overnight. Small amounts of debris could still fall near Aurillac (Cantal) on Sunday morning.
Sunday will be marked by the arrival of oceanic rain that will gradually move across the western states throughout the day. Rainfall is expected throughout the country except in the Alpes-Maritimes which will see land clearing.
Rain is expected to continue in central and southern France in the afternoon and evening.
Rising temperature
On the mercury side, rain will be accompanied by warm weather on the western facade. Temperatures are expected to reach 13°C in Cherbourg and 14°C in Biarritz in the morning. In the capital, thermometers will also warm up by a few degrees with a predicted temperature of 4°C and a minimum of 0°C in Strasbourg and Belfort.
In the afternoon, temperatures are expected to be 5°C in Lille, 7°C in Paris and Lyon, 13°C in Toulouse, and up to 16°C in the Basque Country.
On Monday, temperatures will remain stable and rainfall will continue across almost the entire country. The Île de France, south of Normandy and Ille-et-Vilaine are subject to land clearing.
