Fall is here, and so is the desire to recharge your batteries as close to nature as possible. Among the green areas of our country, Burgundy, with its forests and vineyards, offers the perfect setting. This ancient region allows you to “enjoy a healthy period of renewal, discovery and activity,” as its tourism office boasts. In other words, a little slice of the countryside not too far from Paris and at a great price.
Where exactly to settle? To help you make your choice, Le Parisien compares 161 municipalities in the former Burgundy region (Côte-d’Or, Nièvre, Saône-et-Loire and Yonne) with 500 or more inhabitants based on about thirty criteria (quality of life, real estate prices, shops and services, transport, etc.). Areas where fewer than 50 real estate transactions were conducted between 2021 and 2025 were also excluded.
