In Veneto, polling stations will remain open today, from 07.00 to 23.00, and tomorrow, Monday 24 November, from 07.00 to 15.00.
There are approximately 4.3 million people eligible to votespread across seven districts, which correspond to provinces Belluno, Padua, Rovigo, Treviso, Venice, Verona and Vicenza. All adult citizens regularly registered in the electoral roll of any of the municipalities of the Veneto region can participate in the vote. Voters can vote for only presidential candidates, or candidates and associated lists, or only lists, in which case the votes are automatically transferred to the associated candidates.
The so-called “split vote” was expectedsuch as in Campania and Puglia, where you can select presidential candidates and lists linked to other candidates. Voters can indicate up to two preferences for the county council, as long as the preferences concern candidates of the opposite gender, otherwise the second preference will be void. The winner is simply the candidate who gets the most votes No water runoff is expected.
Vote counting will begin at 3pm on Monday 24 November, immediately after polls close.
