Political leaders take to the field ahead of the final rush of election campaigning for the regional rounds in Puglia, Campania and Veneto on Sunday 23rd and Monday 24th November. After the event at the Teatro Team in Bari in support of Luigi Lobuono, the civil candidate of Forza Italia running on the center-right, the leaders of the center-right will meet again on the Palapartenope stage in Naples, on Friday 14 November, starting at 17.30, to support Edmondo Cirielli, deputy foreign minister of the Fratelli d’Italia. And there is also another date on the agenda: Tuesday 18 November in Padua to give the sprint to Alberto Stefani. The location chosen for the rally was the Gran Teatro Geox, which had been used last October 15 for the opening of the campaign for the election of deputy and deputy secretary of the Northern League aimed at taking over the post of outgoing governor, Luca Zaia. Starting at 6pm, in addition to Stefani and ‘Doge’, the prime minister and president of the FdI, Giorgia Meloni, the secretaries of the Lega and FI, Matteo Salvini and Antonio Tajani, as well as the moderate leaders of the Noi and the Udc, Maurizio Lupi and Antonio De Poli, will take to the stage. The coalition’s chosen slogan for next week’s events is ‘Veneto cannot be stopped’.

Meanwhile for the centre-left, Democratic Party secretary Elly Schlein, Cinquestelle president Giuseppe Conte and Avs co-leaders Angelo Bonelli and Nicola Fratoianni will be together on stage in Naples to support the former Chamber president Roberto Fico (M5S). The event, ahead of the regional head elections on November 23 and 24, will be held on Thursday, November 20. Work is underway at the site: according to coalition sources, the possibility of open fields will be ruled out to avoid inconvenience caused by possible bad weather. We therefore sought to organize the event in a large indoor building, following the national congress of the Young Democratic Party held at the Casa della Musica on via Barbagallo in Fuorigrotta. The possibility that Clemente Mastella’s presence could be just a coincidence, but for now it seems that this can be ruled out. “If I am invited, of course yes”, answered the Mayor of Benevento to LaPresse, regarding the hypothetical joint initiative with leaders in a wide range of fields. Regarding the controversy over his absence from Fico’s initiatives in his city, Mastella added: “I was not in Benevento when Fico came because I was out with my family, but my whole family was there and they applauded his speech. Of course there was no political problem with Fico.”

Meanwhile in Campania, controversy is heating up regarding the ship of the former president of the Chamber. I reject the senders of all the defamatory accusations they make, accusations that are neither in heaven nor on earth”, Fico’s response from Salerno to the controversy raised by the center-right against his gozzo, was also the subject of a parliamentary question asked by Sergio Rastrelli, city commissioner of the FdI in Naples. This means that they have no arguments, meaning that they are afraid and they are trying in a very clumsy and childish way to find a way to delegitimize me. But it is impossible, because the public supports me, said Fico again. Apart from the MP Fratelli d’Italia, he was also urged by the head of the group in the Forza Italia Senate, Maurizio Gasparri: “Fico, the moralist of citizens’ income, returns to the fore: from the former president of the Chamber to the candidate of the Largo camp in Campania. Today he confirmed that he still owns the boat, but was silent about the hypothetical illegal mooring at Nisida. Fico answered: is it true that some time ago he obtained a berth in the military port of the Air Force, an area prohibited for civilians, with a rental subsidy of only 500 euros per year?”. As for Puglia, according to local Dem sources, there should not be a single leader of the broad camp supporting Dem MEP and former mayor of Bari, Antonio Decaro. Schlein is expected to be in the region managed by Michele Emiliano who will leave at the beginning of next week, but not for the close. While in Veneto, the DEM leader will close the election campaign on the date November 19 in Mestre to support Giovanni Manildo, former mayor of Treviso It is not yet clear whether Conte, Bonelli and Fratoianni will also appear on the Venice stage with Schlein.
