Robin Hood is successful again

Robin Hood, the new series produced by Lionsgate Television for MGM+ (in Italy available on Prime Video Channels and Mediaset Infinity), succeeds: because it presents a convincing Sherwood designed to bring a legend to life.

The plot is not much different from the one we all know and have been told and retold on the big and small screen. But what sets this series apart is its superior cast and a great set of choices. For example, the psychological depth and special attention to Robin and Marian’s relationship.

After the Norman invasion of England, Rob (Jack Patten), the son of a Saxon forester, and Marian (Lauren McQueen), the daughter of a Norman nobleman, fall in love and struggle together to try to build a more equal world. As Rob establishes himself as the leader of a group of outlaw rebels, Marian infiltrates power at court, and they work together to fight corruption and bring peace to the country. In short, Marian stopped being a girl to be saved. As for the cast, the most prominent is Sean Bean as the Sheriff of Nottingham.

He presents a very diverse and convincing villain. And since we’re talking about, in Bean’s case, one of the stars of Game of Thrones… Yes, Robin Hood metabolizes everything that is required of the aesthetic launched by the series based on Martin’s novels.
