“If they intend to change the election law, they still haven’t told us how. We also read the reconstruction in the newspapers. But the impression is, if they want to quickly change it now, it’s because they already understand that with the coalition we built for all Regions with this law, they will forgive them. And it doesn’t seem like a good reason to make changes.” Democratic Party Secretary Elly Schlein said this while speaking to reporters on Transatlantico in the House, responding to a question about the majority’s action on the election law.
“Also because – adds Schlein – they are a people who are so proud of the solidity that the common law provides. So it means that they recognize that they did not win through their strength but through divisions between their opponents, and we finally healed and resolved these divisions.”
