Series for M 6 and Prime Video: Alban Lenoir, Élodie Yung, Jacques Gamblin start Charles de Gaulle

“Le Charles” will soon be removed. As we revealed a month ago, the plot of this new series produced by Next Episode (UGC Group) for M 6 and the Prime Video platform will take place partly on board the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle, the flagship of the French fleet and the only nuclear-powered warship in Europe. Filming begins this Wednesday in Hyères and Toulon (Var) and is scheduled to last until March. The six episodes will be directed by Julien Despaux who participated in three seasons of “Paris, Police 1900”, in “Guiana” for Canal +, but also “Zone blanche” for France 2.

To present this thriller, Six and Prime Video have assembled a top-notch cast. Alban Lenoir (“Lost Bullet”, “Antigang”) will cross paths with Élodie Yung, found in the series “Les Bleus: premiers pas dans la police” on Six, before pursuing a career beyond our borders, appearing in “Millennium” or the series “Daredevil” and “Cleaning woman “. Among their partners, Patrick Mille ( Count of Monte Cristo »), Jacques Gamblin (“Name of the Person”, “Hippocrates”), Constance Labbé (“Cat’s Eyes”, “Disappointed”), Antoine Gouy (“Lupin ») or Bruno Sanches (“HPI”) will also embark on this adventure.

An assassin aboard an aircraft carrier

The result of two years of development, this fiction was created and written by Henri Debeurme and Mathilde Arnaud, together with Yoann Legave. The story? When Charles de Gaulle’s aircraft carrier had just sailed on a strategic mission in the Eastern Mediterranean, one woman from her crew was found dead and another was missing. A military investigator was immediately dispatched. However, a new victim was found. A killer is on the loose in this floating city. The tension and events will endanger the 1,800 men and 240 women on board.

“Le Charles” marks the first joint acquisition between the M 6 group and Prime Video, which will broadcast it before the channel. The goal: to offer “eventful and popular entertainment” amidst this unique setting. The project received support from the French Navy and sailors from various units were met to provide suggestions for its implementation. Certain scenes will also be produced on the French navy’s flagship and other military vessels.
