“I definitely do not want to forget the significant contribution that modern distribution chains make to the Italian economy, both in terms of GDP and employment, supporting local economic development, supporting the structure of small and medium-sized businesses and increasing Made in Italy”. That was Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in a message read at the Modern Distribution Forum 2025 in Milan.
“The government has always been able to count on, in recent years, the collaboration of the Federdistributione, the companies joining the network and the entire sector. I refer to some of the initiatives we have created together to fight inflation and support the most economically vulnerable families, such as the “Card dedicated to you””, he underlined.
“A tool that, in addition to helping one million families buy basic necessities, also improves the work and quality of our agri-food supply chains. This is an initiative that we strongly believe in and that we have chosen to refinance in 2026 and 2027”, he continued. “I also want to remember the “Tricolore Quarter”, an initiative carried out by the Government in 2023 together with all actors in the agricultural food and consumer goods supply chain to strengthen the purchasing power of the Italian people, in a period where inflation is still high,” he continued. “A commitment – he concluded – is completely unclear, and once again confirms your concern for the Italian family”.
