Sometimes more expensive than the entrance ticketFIFA is selling World Cup parking lots for absolutely ridiculous prices
The World Cup in the US, Mexico and Canada is a giant cash cow for FIFA. Not only are match tickets sometimes absurdly expensive, parking prices are also really bad, as has now been published by the World Association.
Traveling to the 2026 World Cup matches by car will be an expensive pleasure for its fans. World association FIFA has set up a website to buy parking spaces for matches at five venues in America – at prices that sometimes even exceed the price of admission.
In Kansas City, for example, tourists paid the least for a parking spot at a group stage game at 75 dollars (about 65 euros). In Arlington/Texas and Miami, prices for the semifinal and third-place games (Miami) rose to $175 (151 euros). Both stadiums are not easily accessible by public transport. There is no price information for the final match in East Rutherford/New Jersey, nor for the matches in Canada and Mexico.
The likely total cost to fans – especially for the more exciting games – continues to increase. Tickets for a match between the US hosts in Los Angeles, for example, cost between 484 and 2,363 euros. However, for some group games, tickets are available from 60 dollars (around 52 euros) – and therefore at a lower price than the cheapest park tickets to date.
According to “The Athletic” report, buyers will only know exactly how far the reserved parking space is from the respective stadium at a later date. Although US stadiums, all of which belong to NFL football league franchises, are surrounded by parking lots of varying levels, some of them will be closed or used for other purposes.
