This Friday Sonia Bermúdez was called up for the second time as coach for the great event with which Spain will say goodbye to 2025. La Roja will face Germany in the Nations League final in a double match on November 28th at the Fritz Walter Kaiserslautern and on December 2nd at the Metropolitano stadium (Madrid). The Vallecano coach, who in October brought back two important veterans for the team in Jenni Hermoso and Mapi León, has announced a continuous list in which the Tigres striker and the Barça central defender appear again and in which the striker Esther González returns after the physical problems that prevented her from joining the group in October.
Bermúdez has also called up striker Edna Imade, the second top scorer in the F League with seven goals after Blaugrana Ewa Pajor and Claudia Pina —both with eight—. The Federation had been working for months to ensure that Imade, with a Nigerian passport and born in Morocco, received Spanish nationality. The player also decided to speed up the preparation of her documents to play the European Championship in Switzerland last summer, but in the end she did not arrive in time to participate in the tournament.
The arrival of the coach on the red bench in September inaugurated a new cycle that gave opportunities to players who seemed disqualified. The coach’s first two matches after replacing Montse Tomé were the Nations League semi-finals against Sweden, in which Spain beat their rivals 5-0 on aggregate.
The list of 25 players is made up of: Cata Coll (Barcelona), Adriana Nanclares (Athletic Club), Eunate Astralaga (Eibar); Ona Batlle (Barcelona), Jana Fernández (London City), Irene Paredes (Barcelona), Mapi León (Barcelona), María Méndez (Real Madrid), Olga Carmona (PSG), Leila Ouahabi (Manchester City); Laia Aleixandri (Barcelona), Alexia Putellas (Barcelona), Aitana Bonmatí (Barcelona), Clara Serrajordi (Barcelona), Vicky López (Barcelona), Fiamma Benítez (Atlético de Madrid); Mariona Caldentey (Arsenal), Esther González (Gotham), Cristina Martín-Prieto (Benfica), Esther González (Gotham), Athenea del Castillo (Real Madrid), Claudia Pina (Barcelona), Eva Navarro (Real Madrid) and Jenni Hermoso (Tigres), Edna Imade (Real Sociedad)
