stalker and threw petrol in his wife’s face, arrested (2) – Il Tempo

(Adnkronos) – It was his wife who reported last June the episodes that made him the victim, including an argument on August 16 when the 46-year-old man caused bruises on her right arm, or threats shouted even in front of her daughter or a ban on leaving the house. The escalation culminated in petrol being thrown in his face and his wife being forced to seek medical treatment due to an ugly argument “over the details of the separation”. A violence immortalized by video surveillance cameras that capture the phases of the attack and the victim’s story. The man gave police two bottles that may have contained petrol, as well as a GPS box installed in his ex-wife’s car.

For Judge Milani, the attack on 5 November 2025 “gave a clear impression of the obsession he felt towards his ex-wife, which led him to commit acts capable of having very serious consequences for the safety of the victim”. The man, who was born in Romania, despite having expressed remorse, was described as having “a lack of self-control” and there was – as prosecutor Menegazzo underlined – “a present and real danger of committing further serious crimes” given that “the obsessive and abusive attitude displayed during years of cohabitation with his wife does not appear to have abated following the separation at the end of the summer”.

Indeed, a “very serious episode” in early November highlighted how “he was unable to control his violent impulses, thereby endangering the victim’s safety with actions that could have had far more serious consequences, if the victim had not been willing to lock himself in the car”. The fact that, by the suspect’s own admission, there was a satellite detector he installed in his ex-wife’s car underscores “the full extent of the pain in the suspect’s controlling manner of offending people.”
