The UN Security Council has renewed, for one year, the UNISFA peacekeeping mission in the Abyei region, disputed between Sudan and South Sudan. The main task of UNISFA soldiers is to protect civilians in areas frequently affected by armed clashes. Also at the UN, an investigation was opened yesterday into violence committed by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in El-Fasher, as part of the civil war rocking Sudan.
