Location: Stuttgart
Stuttgart is the capital of the state of Baden-Württemberg and one of the 10 largest cities in Germany. This city combines history with the future.
One of the most popular sights is the New Castle, where the kings of Württemberg lived. But the Mercedes-Benz Museum or Porsche Museum, where visitors can admire past and future vehicle technology, also attracts many tourists.
Schlossplatz in Stuttgart in the morning
Stuttgart was the location of the popular crime series “Tatort” in several episodes in the 1970s and 1980s. At that time, commissioners from other cities also carried out investigations in the state capital of Baden-Württemberg.
Since 1992, Inspector Ernst Bienzle (played by Dietz-Werner Steck) was the first chief inspector to hunt criminals as a permanent investigator in Stuttgart. The loner was used until 2007. Since 2008 he was replaced by his colleagues Thorsten Lannert and Sebastian Bootz.
This is Commissioner Thorsten Lannert
His role: Thorsten Lannert impresses with an unbreakable fighting spirit. The Commissioner in Hamburg was originally an undercover investigator in the field of organized crime. However, his cover was blown. As a result, his wife and daughter died.
This fateful twist of fate leads the police officer to the Stuttgart murder squad, where he must try hard again. At first he had difficulty in teamwork. Lannert is not a team player and trusts no one – least of all his own instincts. But as time goes by, a friendship develops between the intuitive Lannert and the analytically inclined Bootz.
Lannert’s experience as an undercover investigator primarily taught him to understand human nature and listen to his hunches. He is ready to do anything for the sake of human life. The weak point is cases involving children.

Since 2008 he has been seen playing detective “Tatort” Thorsten Lannert. What the actor has in common with his character: a heart for children. Richy Müller is an Arche IntensivKinder ambassador and received the Order of Merit of the State of Baden-Württemberg for this.
This is Commissioner Sebastian Bootz
His role: Sebastian Bootz needs an overview, order and control. He collects and analyzes, relaxed in dealings and tough on the matter. Trained criminal psychologists want to do everything alone and are always perfectionists.
The table is his oasis of calm. The officer memorized important paragraphs. Bootz works meticulously and analytically. His motto: Law is the highest command. Combined with Lannert, an emotional and intuitive person, these character traits complement each other to form a dream team.
Bootz had to pay personal tribute for his dedication to police work – he and his wife Julia divorced because he failed to fulfill his family responsibilities. Bootz suffered greatly from the divorce and missed everyday life with his family.
