Telekom again won in the network test conducted by “Connect” magazine. However, the distance to other mobile phone providers is getting smaller.

Telekom has the best mobile network. These are the results of a network test conducted by “Connect” magazine. This is the fifteenth time in a row that Telkom has won. Second place is occupied by two other providers O2/Telefónica and Vodafone, where the magazine attests to improvements.

In particular, data measurements in small towns and connecting roads show positive changes for both service providers compared with the previous year’s results, he said. Both Vodafone and O2 have “improved significantly” here. However, Telekom’s superiority remains “obvious”.

But when it comes to language assessment, there is stiff competition between the two big providers Vodafone and Telekom in major cities. “While Telekom was ahead in the driving test, Vodafone came out on top in the walking test,” wrote “Connect”. O2/Telefónica remains at a high level, but is only behind the leading duo.

Language discipline is also increasing in small towns. Drivers can rely on cell phone calls outside major city centers. And: “If you live in a small town without a landline and only use a smartphone, you can almost always be reached by phone.”

Good news for train tourists: Compared to previous years, the yield of telephone calls via means of transportation has “clearly increased”. Telekom and Vodafone are also ahead in this regard. But O2/Telefónica followed at some distance.

How does the “Connect” test work? According to the magazine, measurements were taken from October 14 to 27 this year both in a vehicle for the driving test and on foot for the walking test. Testing was carried out in 24 large cities and 24 small cities.

Foot measurements were carried out in “zones with general traffic such as train stations, airport terminals, cafes, public transport and museums”. About 11,000 kilometers were covered in the driving test.

Last week, Telekom also achieved the highest score of “excellent” in the “Chip” and “Net Check” mobile communications tests. With an overall score of 1.2, the Bonn-based company topped Vodafone (grade 1.3) and O2 (grade 1.5) in the test.
