The Superman issue from 1939 broke all records. At auction in New York, the first issue of the Superman series sold for 9.12 million dollars (7.98 million euros) including fees. This was announced by the auction house Heritage Auctions.

Nine million for an issue of Superman: Brother finds the collection
According to newspaper reports, the magazine lay forgotten in a box in the attic for decades. Three brothers from California went through their mother’s possessions after her death and found the magazine. According to the newspaper, they knew their mother had a comic book collection but had never seen the magazines.
There are many Supermen. US actor David Corenswet currently plays the comic book hero.

Superman made his debut in the Action Comics anthology series in 1938. He quickly became so popular that he got his own series in 1939. According to the auction house, the first issue of the hero from the planet Krypton now being auctioned is in excellent condition.
