They never left each other again. Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner will play their sixth joint final of 2025, Sunday November 16, at the ATP Masters in Turin. It’s hard to imagine a better end to the season than a new showdown between two new monsters on the men’s circuit who have shared the last eight Grand Slam tournaments (4 each).

Jannik Sinner was the first to validate his ticket in the afternoon, with full control. The world number 2 played his tennis against the Australian Alex de Minaur (7th on the ATP) in two sets (7-5, 6-2), who had not beaten him in thirteen confrontations. If the Australian pressured the Italian in the first set, playing very tactically and with perfect execution, he finally faltered against Sinner who raised his level of play late in the set. It was at this moment in the match that he converted the first of his eight break points, at the best time to take the lead (6-5) before ending the match (7-5).

In the second round, Jannik Sinner entered steamroller mode, immediately pocketing a double break, facing a helpless Alex de Minaur without a solution. “The match was very difficult, especially in the beginning. He served very well. But in the second set, I was able to break quite early and that let me out of control. Tomorrow will be an important day, but first a big thank you to you (the public) (…). I am very lucky to have you who give me extra soul”the Italian’s reaction to the organizers’ microphone after his victory in front of a crowd that supported his cause.

Carlos Alcaraz won on the night, never flinching against Canadian Félix Auger-Aliassime (6-2, 6-4). Unlike his Italian rival, he did not have to fight to create the first difference, staying away from his opponent’s second serve game. He will spend a total of 30 minutes less on the pitch than Jannik Sinner (1 hour 22 compared to 1 hour 52). The Spanish world number 1 will try, on Sunday, to win this tournament that brings together the best eight players of the year for the first time in his career, but he will have to dethrone the title holder. The psychological influence is on his side since he won seven of the last eight confrontations with the Italian on the ATP circuit.
