The body of priest Jean-Marie Petitclerc, convicted in October of “voyeurism”, was found on a beach in Calvados

The body of Salesian priest and educator Jean-Marie Petitclerc was found Monday morning on the beach in Langrune-sur-Mer, in Calvados, our colleagues from Here report. The Don Bosco Foundation, to which he belongs, confirmed the news in a statement published on its website.

According to information from Ici Normandie, Jean-Marie Petitclerc came to the area to spend the weekend with his friends. He was staying at a hotel near the beach where his body was found.

The foundation evokes “drowning”

Monday morning, a passerby discovered the body on Langrune-sur-Mer beach and immediately contacted emergency services. Car keys found on his body confirmed that it was Jean-Marie Petitclerc. In its press release, the Don Bosco Foundation said “drowning”, but the investigation must determine the exact cause of death.

According to our colleagues at La Croix, Jean-Marie Petitclerc was sentenced to six months in prison last October for “voyeurism”. He denied these facts and even appealed the decision.
