The couple Andreu Buenafuente and Silvia Abril will present the chimes on TVE | Television

The duel of the bells appears this year more alive than ever, after the victory last year of TVE, with David Broncano and LalaChus, over the apparently unbeatable couple formed by the presenter Cristina Pedroche and the chef Alberto Chicote on Antena 3. Now, after Atresmedia announced that its grapes will also be seen on La Sexta, the public body has just moved and will bet on the couple formed by the comedians Andreu Buenafuente and Silvia Abril goodbye 2025 and welcome 2026, as Informalia anticipated and as Efe confirms.

TVE therefore makes use of not only a very solvent comedy couple, who even delivered the Goya awards together on two occasions (2019 and 2020), but also takes advantage once again of one of the successes of the season on La 1, that of the program Imperfect future of Buenafuente. Abril, a regular contributor to the program, also participated in the highest-grossing Spanish film of 2025: Father, there is only one 5.

Buenafuente is no novice with chimes, since he introduced them to La Sexta in 2008 with his inseparable Berto Romero.

In 2024, with the team The revolt (a program also produced by El Terrat, a company founded by Buenafuente), La 1 excels with its broadcast from Puerta del Sol with 31.2% share and 4.8 million viewers on average, and 28.1% and 4.3 million from Antena 3. But this year, with Pedroche and Chicote also on La Sexta, the final figure could change when both channels are added. At Telecinco, those responsible for delivering the grapes will be Sandra Barneda and Xuso Jones.

Until Tuesday, there were few clues about who would be chosen to host one of the most-watched TV moments of the year on public television. José Pablo López, president of RTVE, had anticipated in the social network X that they had “something very different” planned for this year. “It will be spectacular,” he added in response to users. David Broncano had already ruled himself out of repeating. Before him and LalaChus, Ramón García and Ana Mena were in charge of welcoming 2024.

The RTVE website had fueled speculation about who would be in charge of presenting the chimes with a survey inviting ideas. In a sign of the voters’ humor and irony, some of the most supported options were Gabriel Rufián and Vito Quiles, Simón Pérez and Silvia Charro, and Antonio Lobato and Fernando Alonso.
