The court handed over the DNA collected during the investigation to Bossetti’s defense** – Il Tempo

Milan, November 19 (Adnkronos) – Massimo Bossetti’s defense has a trace copy of the genetic analysis of the largest scientific investigation in history. In the morning, lawyer Claudio Salvagni collected data on the genetic profile of the victim Yara Gambirasio and that data – anonymously – was collected to identify Ignoto 1. The huge hard disk now contains countless electropherograms – high definition and color graphics – representing the sequence of thousands of DNAs collected on Val Brembana in the long investigation that led to Bossetti’s final life sentence.

The materials – documents that the Court itself acknowledged were “not obtained in the trial file” and “also have the character of potential novelty of evidence” – arrived in the hands of the defense more than six years after the request. The list includes, in addition to photographic images taken by RIS Parma on all analyzed specimens, also copies of searches and anonymized results of the genetic characterization carried out.

“The strings – explained lawyer Salvagni to Adnkronos – fill 70 pages, both front and back, printed on A3 sheets. A large amount of raw data that required months of work for a complete examination, a study that we hope will recover useful data to demonstrate the innocence of Massimo Bossetti”. While not access to an analysis of the findings, today’s achievement could be fundamental given the possibility of a trial review request.
