Summary. This Wednesday, October 29, Flammarion publishes “L’Empire”, a behind-the-scenes investigation into French rap.
The investigation was signed by three journalists: Simon Piel, of Le Monde, Paul Deutschmann, editor-in-chief of Africa Intelligence and Joan Tilouine, who has published “Mafia Africa” in the same publisher’s collection.
The book charts the rise of rap, and denounces the insidious influence of organized crime in the music industry. Many rappers have become victims of blackmail.
Two of the three writers of “The Empire” were guests on Source Code
