With three landslide wins from the favorite teams, the final round of the 2025 regional elections ended in Veneto, Campania and Puglia. The results were evident from the first polls and, when the share examined reached two-thirds, Veneto’s new president Alberto Stefani (Lega) was ahead of Giovanni Manildo by more than 35 percentage points. The centre-left’s wins in the other two regions were also remarkable, with Campania’s Roberto Fico (M5S) ahead of Edmondo Cirielli with 61% of favorability and Puglia’s Antonio Decaro on 64.9%, leaving Luigi Lobuono on 34.2%. Despite expected wins, the margins exceeded expectations in all three regions, thanks to a low voter turnout of 43.6%, which is a credit to the outgoing government.

“It was a beautiful election campaign, among the people”, commented Stefani, thanking the center-right leaders, while Decaro spoke of “an extraordinary result above all expectations”, acknowledging the gravity of the responsibility that awaits him. Schlein, Conte, Fratoianni and Bonelli immediately moved to Naples to celebrate Fico, who did not give up on the government: “All the ministers came here, they promised everything. Today the region defeated Meloni’s government”.

Meanwhile, projections show that Liga is dominant in Veneto at 36.1%, with Pd and FdI lagging behind at around 17%. In Puglia, the Democratic Party came first with 27.3%, followed by the Fratelli d’Italia with 17.3%, while on the centre-left, the Decaro Presidente list won 12.4%, ahead of the M5S with 8.9%. On the centre-right, Forza Italia achieved 8.8%, topping Lega’s 7.2%. In Campania, the Democratic Party is in first place with 17.7% followed by the M5S with 9.4% and the Fico list with 5.6%, while on the centre-right, the head to head is between Forza Italia with 11.1% and the FdI with 11.5%. Cirielli lists at 6.2% and Lega at 5.3%. Therefore, all three regions confirm the picture that the favored candidate not only wins, but significantly expands the expected advantage.
