American design, European technology and now also fully electric: the Jeep Compass is back on European roads. An SUV for everyone who finds the standard stuff too boring.
Is this the best of both worlds? The new Jeep Compass combines the US brand’s angular and striking design with European technology. This off-road vehicle rolled off the assembly line in Italy and was not initially available in North America. With a length of 4.52 meters, this third generation competes with competitors such as the Toyota RAV4 and VW Tiguan. It should hit the market before the end of the year.
The basis is a large hybrid platform from the Stellantis Group, which is also used by the Opel Grandland and Citroën C5 Aircross. This opens up a wide choice of drive variants.
The base model costs 39,900 euros. It is equipped with a three-cylinder petrol engine, which is extended to a mild hybrid with an electric starter generator. This combination produces 145 hp of power, reaches a top speed of 195 km/h and consumes an average of 5.7 liters per 100 kilometers with CO2 emissions of 126 g/km.
The fully electric version is available from 47,900 euros. It offers 213 hp and an 80 kWh battery that allows a range of up to 500 kilometers. The maximum speed is 180 km/h and the charging power is up to 160 kW. This allows the battery to be charged 20 to 80 percent in 31 minutes.
Early next year, Jeep will bring additional models to the market: a plug-in hybrid with 195 hp and an electric range of 95 kilometers, an electric model with 231 hp and a range of about 650 kilometers, and an all-wheel drive electric model with two motors producing 375 hp and a range of about 600 kilometers.
The first variant can now be ordered and will be available at retailers starting mid-January 2026.
