The government confines all outdoor poultry farms due to avian influenza

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA) has ordered the confinement of all free-range poultry farms to prevent and control the spread of avian influenza. In an ordinance published in the Official State Gazette (BOE) and coming into force this Thursday, the Government established the confinement of free-range poultry farming to any of the existing farming methods, including organic farms and those for self-consumption or those producing eggs or meat for direct sale to the final consumer.
