The left demands it. The government will table amendments to debate extending the suspension of pension reform for long-term careers, announced government spokesperson Maud Bregeon on BFMTV, Monday 10 November.
As part of an examination of the Social Security financial bill for 2026, deputies on Wednesday were to discuss suspending pension reform, a condition set by socialists in order not to censor the government. At this stage, the regulations only apply to retirees following the common law system, but environmental activists and communists are demanding the inclusion of long-term careers through government amendments. The amendments will detail the audiences concerned, a government spokesperson said.
If scrutiny of the bill is not completed by Wednesday, the text will be submitted to the Senate due to constitutional deadlines. Maud Bregeon also launched a “warning” to the opposition, saying “ready for alternative action” against increased reductions in medical costs, while demanding that they be done “financed by savings” and not by “new tax proposal”.
