The Las Rozas Civil Guard together with the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office are investigating an alleged sexual assault against a six-year-old minor in a school in Las Matas by other 11-year-old classmates, as confirmed by sources from the armed institution. The parents of the attacked minor filed a complaint against the alleged attackers as well as against the centre.

According to Cadena SER, the attacks began at the beginning of this year and the alarm was raised when, during a medical examination of the attacked minor, the doctor found that he had blows, pinches and bruises on his arms. Shortly afterwards, in mid-November, the 6-year-old boy’s family filed a complaint with the Guardia Civil against the attackers and against the center’s management.

Protocol activation

The San José de Las Matas Public School, for its part, sent a statement to families informing them that they have already activated the corresponding protocol for cases of sexual violence and sent a message of reassurance to parents and guardians. “We understand the concern that this situation may generate,” the statement reads. “We want to assure you that the center is acting with the utmost diligence, responsibility and coordination with the competent services.”

The Ministry of Education ensures that the Inspectorate supervises all measures adopted by the center in question to ensure the safety of students.

Both the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office and the judicial officers of the Guardia Civil of Las Rozas are now working on the investigation.
