An Italian man was discovered disguised as his deceased mother, wearing a wig, make-up and painted nails, trying to renew his mother’s identity card to continue collecting his pension, while hiding her mummified corpse in the house.
The events occurred on 11 November in the municipality of Borgo Virgilio, in the province of Mantua, in the north of the country. The Corriere della Sera published the passport photo that the man took presumably dressed as a mother to try to continue collecting his pension.
This is a 57-year-old man, a nurse by profession, who presented himself at the Municipality posing as Graziella Dall’Oglio and asking for the renewal of his identity card.
Faced with the scene, the municipal officers became suspicious and called the police, who confirmed that not only was it a man but that he was the son of the woman he was playing. The officers went to his home and found his mother’s body, which he had hidden for three years presumably to continue collecting his pension.
The agents reported the alleged impostor for the crimes of concealment of a corpse, impersonation, Social Security fraud and falsification of documents.
