Kia’s first electric commercial vehicle, the PV5 won the 2026 International Van of the Year award. This important recognition was awarded through a unanimous vote at the Solutrans exhibition in Lyon, France, by a jury consisting of journalists specializing in commercial vehicles from twenty-six countries.
Listed on the evaluation list alongside six other models launched in 2025, including two other electric vans, PV5’s title of International Van of the Year 2026 highlights the growing importance of electrification in the commercial vehicle sector and, at the same time, its acceleration towards a more sustainable future.
The jury considered how the PV5 sets new standards in the light commercial vehicle segment thanks to its zero-emission performance, versatility and practicality. In addition, the Kia PV5 also won the Guinness World Record title for the furthest distance traveled by a fully charged electric van on a single charge: 693.38 kilometers.
The first model of the Pbv range that aims to offer countless features and technologies to meet even the most specialized needs developed on the E-Gmp.S modular platform, the PV5 is currently available in Cargo Long and Passenger versions. In 2026 new variants will be introduced such as Chassis Cab, Cargo short-wheelbase and High Roof. Kia’s PBV range will further be strengthened with the larger PV7 and PV9 models, which are currently under development.
